La Mer's 50 Years Of An Icon Celebration
La Mer’s Celebration of an Icon in honor of their 50th anniversary was one of the most gorgeous events.
Developed in 1965 in California by Dr. Max Huber, La Mer is a luxury skincare brand to the stars known for being iconic while transforming skin to look and feel endlessly youthful.
La Mer celebrated 50 Years of an Icon on October 13th, 2015 at Siren Studios in Hollywood. Celebrities and influencers, decked out in “Hollywood Glam” ensembles, posed on the green carpet titled the “$3 Million Wall” because was constructed of $3,200,000 worth of Crème de La Mer jars.
Guests included Erin Wasson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Nicole Richie, and Chrissy Teigen.
La Mer transformed the 26,000 sq. ft. space into a massive art installation inspired by the sea. At the entrance stood a giant Crème de La Mer jar, that guests could step inside. Beyond that, incredible things hung from the ceiling like fringe, a giant harp, and acrobats reminiscent of Cirque de Soleil. Models decked out in under-the-sea garb served hors d’oeuvres and bottomless samples of La Mer cremes. The grand finale was a live performance by The Atomics and insanely ridiculous gift bags filled with $1k worth of La Mer’s most popular products.

Celebrity nail artist Sarah Chue gives us inside scoop on what we will see on the red carpet for Emmy's 2016 and what we should anticipate for this fall.
1. You’re the manicurist to the stars. What nail looks should we be anticipating on the red carpet for Emmys 2016?
A. If I could take an educated guess, I am thinking it would be something more on the Fall, "clean" side. I'd expect nudes, reds, dark reds, and possibly geometric nail art or striped patterns for more of the edgy look.
2. How did you begin as a manicurist?
A. I began as a Manicurist in my Senior year in High school, taking up Nail school simultaneously towards getting my license for it. Then after, I started working in at a Nail shop to a Spa Nail setting in total of about 9 years before moving to LA where I began to freelance my work.
3. Who was your first celebrity client?
A. My first celebrity client was Debby Ryan, an Actress who starred on the Disney Channel and is also a talented singer.
5. Will we see gels or regular nail polish on the red carpet?
A. I think we will see both regular polish and gels. Gels are so in right now!
6. What is your favorite nail shape?
A. My favorite nail shape are oval nails. No matter how your fingers look, an oval shape will always elongate it! Not to mention, it's super classic looking to me.
7. Do you have any nail tricks or secrets you can share?
If you just polished your nails and knick it on accident while they are still drying, you could actually fix it pretty easily without having to take off the whole polish off the nail so as long as the mistake is huge. Lightly dab your finger with acetone (polish remover), then gently dab it maybe a few times over your smudge to smooth out its wrinkles. Polish it over with your color and there you have it! Don't forget to top coat it again.
8. What do you see as the up and coming nail trend for fall?
A. I see gray, dark greens, and nudes as the upcoming fall trend. But I would definitely love to see chocolate browns in there! As far as designs go, I see symmetric lines and geometric shapes as the on-coming trend. Be on the lookout!

Bobs, blush and red lips hit the Chanel show at Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris. “Karl sent me, as usual, a sketch of a very specific, sharply angled bob, which he felt perfectly accentuated his designs,” said mane master Sam McKnight. “We went to work in the studio, cutting and shaping dark wigs into slightly different lengths and angles.” The end result was a “wig hat,” a “slightly futuristic accessory” we saw the French house call upon at the Resort show in Seoul.
